The answers that replied, 'It depends on what you are looking for" are the correct ones. There is a little of everything in in Philadelphia. If you are very rich, Chestnut Hill is probably your spot. If you are moderately rich, and prefer a more eclectic life style, look to Queen Village. If you don't mind being called a Yuppie, try Manayunk. If you are a social activist, any of the poorer neighborhoods in the north, northwest and western parts of the city would be your choice. If you like a more NYC lifestyle, go for Center City. Like ethnic food (Italian, Vietnamese, etc.) South Philadelphia looks good. There are just TOO MANY CHOICES to recommend something to you if you don't some more information for us.

That completely depends on what you're looking for. I like the northwest section because it's residential, walkable, accessible by public transit, quieter than the rest of the city, and greener. There's also a strong sense of community.

If you don't mind the flood danger? Riverfront/ Penn's landing. Best view of town & river. Access to I-95 Airport, Center city, Sports complex.

It depends what you value. Do you want space, or easy access to shopping? And how much can you afford to pay?

I hope this information was very helpful.
