Conquering New York in a single visit is impossible because is a big town like you'll learn with Hotelbye . In New York you can see the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and significantly more. Empire State Building causes it to be worth braving the extended lines, steep ticket prices and dizzying levels to see the town from a top this storied building. Built in 1931, the skyscraper may be the second-tallest making in New York and is one of the very immediate symbols of Gotham, therefore much so that it's performed a function in films such as King Kong, An Affair to Remember and Sleepless in Seattle.

The closest area in Pennsylvania to New York City is the Poconos. It's 75 miles from Delaware Water Gap, PA to the George Washington Bridge. The Lehigh Valley (Allentown/Bethlehem) is also close.
You can begin looking with Realy Executives in Stroudsburg.

I was born and raised in Brooklyn, and for many years I've been living in a suburb of Phila.
I, too, was looking for a city outside NY, but close enough for me to drive there frequently. I found it here. The suburbs of Phila. are quiet, safe, friendly, and have great schools. And they are an easy car or train ride into Center City Phila. which is a large vibrant city.
My area is called Abington. I love it. It takes me about 2 and a half hours to drive to the George Washington Bridge- but that includes a short rest stop.
A neighbor works for Quinn and Wilson realtors. Call them at 215-885-7600. Her name is Carol. And you'll be pleasantly surprised at how much cheaper homes cost here, compared to the NY area.
Good luck on your search.

Many people who leave NYC go to the Allentown/Bethlehem area and the Reading area because there is a bus line that goes through both areas on a regular basis (Bieber). the ride is about 2 hours to Reading which is farther. Also, Trans bridge line serves Allentown, Bethlehem and Easton. Buses from both lines depart from the Port Authority.

I live in Lancaster , PA. There's great school districts here , and it's pretty quiet if you don't live in the city. But the thing is it's more than 2 hours to get to New York. Probably 3-4 hours. I would say Philadelphia, but I'm not sure how far away that is from New York.
